Lava y Ya can send your customers automatic WhatsApp updates about their order — when it is created ("order received") and when it is ready for pickup. To protect your WhatsApp number and comply with WhatsApp's rules, these messages are sent only to customers who explicitly agree to receive them.
The opt-in: ask before you message
Having a customer's phone number is not enough to message them on WhatsApp — WhatsApp requires that the person agreed to receive messages. So the consent is now an explicit checkbox in the POS.
When you record the customer's phone in Nuevo Pedido → Cliente, pick the country with the flag dropdown on the left of the field, then type the local number (without the country code).
A switch appears: "Recibir notificaciones por WhatsApp". Turn it on only if the customer agrees to receive order updates on WhatsApp.
Create the order. The customer gets the WhatsApp updates only if that switch is on.
Consent is saved per customer
The opt-in is stored on the customer, not on the order. Next time you select that saved customer, the switch shows exactly how you left it — you do not need to set it again on every sale.
To stop messaging a customer, open the customer (in the POS or in the Clientes screen) and turn the switch off. They will stop receiving WhatsApp updates. Always honor a customer's request to opt out.
Country code is saved per customer
Each customer's number is now stored with its own country (the flag). It is prefilled with your business's country as a sensible default, but you can change it per customer — useful for a customer with a foreign number. This is what guarantees the message reaches the right number.
Requirements
WhatsApp notifications require an active premium subscription with WhatsApp enabled for your business, and the customer's opt-in switched on. If either is missing, no message is sent.
Frequently asked questions
Will my existing customers keep getting messages? No. After this change, every existing customer starts without consent — turn the switch on for the ones who agree, and they will receive updates again.
What messages are sent? Only transactional order updates ("order received" and "order ready"). No marketing or bulk messages.
Can I edit consent later? Yes, anytime — from the POS customer panel or the Clientes screen.
